Every year I work with various school groups in outdoor education projects. Last week I was really lucky to work with a passionate group of young students from Prem Tinsulanonda International School. They came to Pasak Ngam for the first part of their camp week and learned how to build shelters and cook using bamboo.
Community service and environmental awareness were also part of the program. So on Day 2, the students learned how to make fire breaks in the jungle and build dams. We toured the Mae Kuang Dam and reflected on water systems. Each evening we settled down to enjoy a campfire and to observe the sounds, smells, and sights around us.
